I work in Farnham and my goal as counsellor is to help people lead happier, healthier lives by enabling them to find solutions to the particular challenges they face. I have experience in a number of therapy services including individual, couples and family therapy. It would be my privilege to come alongside you, your partner or your family.
I am a trained and experienced counsellor/therapist. I have a Diploma in Counselling from Nottingham University and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College, Illinois, USA. I have worked as a counsellor both in the UK and the US since 1998. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and have an Associate License in Marriage and Family Therapy in the US.
Much of my work focuses on individuals suffering emotional distress, including anxiety, depression, anger, grief and loss, and trauma. I have particular experience in working with couples and have been heavily influenced by training in Emotion Focused Therapy. I am also willing to address other questions or struggles related to an individual’s emotional, spiritual or relational goals.
I firmly believe that there are times when we all need support, especially as we face major life decisions or transitions. If you choose to meet with me, our work will be based on collaboration – I am here to help you set and achieve your own goals based on your hopes and concerns – and focused on strengths – I will assist you in identifying your strengths and the resources available to help you achieve your goals.
I perform work within a clear ethical and professional framework which I will outline at our first meeting. As required by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I attend regular professional supervision for my work and adhere to the BACP ethical framework (http://www.bacp.co.uk). I am also committed to my own professional and personal development so that I continue to enhance the service I provide.
